Why can't I recover my NCBI user name and/or reset my password?

The Forgot NCBI username or password? link located at the bottom of the Sign in to NCBI dialogue box will only work if you have originally established your account directly through NCBI, meaning that you have a native NCBI account. If you originally signed in through Google, NIH Login, eRA Commons, or any other third party login option, you need to continue using that option (found at the top of the Sign in to NCBI dialogue box).

If you have encountered any error messages while trying to reset your password or to sign in, please clear your browser’s history, close and restart your browser and try again.

Contact us if you are unable to resolve the problem and provide any of the information that you know: NCBI username, eRA Commons username (if any), and any email addresses that may be associated with your account(s). Please do not send any passwords via email.
