What can I use the K99 research and development funds for?
Up to $20,000 per year will be provided to cover the expenses of starting up a research program, including: (a) tuition and fees related to career development activities; (b) salaries for technical support, consultant costs, equipment, supplies; (c) travel to scientific meetings and training; (d) statistical services (including personnel and computing resources); and (e) other research-related expenses. Restrictions: Salary for mentors, secretarial and administrative assistance, etc. is NOT allowed.
