How can I get a journal article or borrow a book or other materials from The National Library of Medicine (NLM)?

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) fulfills interlibrary loan (ILL) copy requests for borrowing libraries worldwide. Only libraries can place ILL requests with NLM. Loans of books, audiovisuals, and other original materials are available to libraries in the contiguous United States.

If you need access to biomedical literature, contact your local public, academic, or hospital library to learn about their resources, ILL services, and fees. For more about NLM’s ILL services and fees, see the Interlibrary Loan site.
