Publishers that want to deposit papers in PMC via NIHMS using a Publisher Account must adequately address a few questions before an account can be issued. NIHMS deposit on an author’s behalf is a voluntary service that some publishers provide; there are no formal agreements made between NIHMS and publishers that require publisher deposit or prevent the author from initiating their own submission.
